The winner of the eighteenth annual Weeks Family Foundation scholarship is Brian Matthew Bowman a June 2007 graduate of Newfane Central School District. Brian is the son of Burf and Shawna Bowman and resides at 6590 Wheeler Road, Lockport, NY.

Brian will receive $1000 a year for the next four years to study education at Elmira College.

Since inception the Weeks Family Foundation has distributed more than $55,000 to its' scholarship winners.

R. Thomas Weeks, director of the Weeks Family Foundation, said the four-year scholarship was awarded on the basis of Brian's class rank, extra curricular activities, school offices held, community involvement, employment accomplishments, recommendations and an essay on education.

Applications for the 2008 Weeks Family Foundation Scholarship will be available in the guidance offices of the Albion, Barker, Lockport, Newfane, Royalton Hartland and Starpoint High Schools November 12th or or by clicking here. The closing date for the application is February 29, 2008.
